THINKING PRO’s Professional Learning Program is designed to do more than prepare teachers to use a curriculum unit. It helps them strengthen everyday instruction—so students continue to grow academically throughout the year and beyond.
Our approach is simple and research-backed: when educators learn and apply student-centered strategies, outcomes improve. THINKING PRO’s PD supports that from day one.
What’s Included in the Full PD Program
6-Hour Training Package
Designed to fit educators’ schedules and make the most of their time.
>> Live Virtual Workshop (3 hours)
A half-day, interactive session that introduces our proven, nonpartisan approach to strengthening instruction. Teachers will explore core practices, including:
- Modeling cognitive skills, moderating discourse, and mentoring student projects
- Teaching critical thinking, reading comprehension, and media literacy
- Grading student work using real examples

An open, ongoing space to connect with fellow educators, share materials, exchange ideas, and get inspired throughout the year.

We customize PD packages for schools and districts — virtual or onsite — including train-the-trainer coaching and system-wide instructional support.
Instructional Coaching (5 Sessions)
Personalized, semester-long support that runs alongside your first implementation — whether it’s the 10–12 week Intensive Curriculum Unit (ICU) or the 5–6 week Short Curriculum Unit. All sessions are virtual and paced to allow time for reflection, growth, and real classroom application. The goal: support successful first-time implementation and help teachers adapt and strengthen everyday practice beyond it.

Launch your implementation with clarity, goals, and a support plan tailored to your context.
>> Three Reflection Sessions
Check in, get feedback, and make adjustments as needed. These sessions are a space to reflect on what’s working, tackle challenges, and plan ahead.

Wrap up the year by recognizing growth, sharing student impact, and planning how to carry success forward.
Note: Coaching is included with the Intensive Curriculum Unit license and can be purchased as a recommended add-on for schools using the Short Curriculum Unit.
Professional Learning Credits & Certificate
Educators can earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through Kent State University by completing THINKING PRO's professional development pathway.
Up to 4.0 CEUs (40 hours)
CEUs are based on the following activities:- Completion of training
- Participation in virtual coaching sessions
- Classroom implementation of the selected curriculum unit
CEU documentation and our THINKING PRO Teacher Certificate are provided upon verified completion.
